Testdrive Okul at the Retail Business Technology Expo 2012

Testdrive Okul at the Retail Business Technology Expo 2012

Testdrive Okul at the Retail Business Technology Expo 2012

The Retail Business Technology Expo is providing the perfect opportunity for you to view and test drive Okul, the new high-end retail touchscreen kiosk from Kiosks4Business.

Okul doesn’t look like your average kiosk, it’s curvy and contemporary. The Kiosk4Business designers wanted to design a kiosk that was bold to stand out in any environment, and what they have achieved is a modern looking kiosk which is perfectly suited for the retail environment.

Okul comes with a 22inch widescreen HD display, on which your customers will be amazed to find a multi touch touchscreen, offering you the opportunity to incorporate high end software onto the display. Multi Touch is relatively new to the Kiosk sphere and Okul gives you an opportunity to equip your retail outlet with cutting edge technology before your competitors.

What’s more Okul can really be ‘yours’ because the Okul can be branded up to be in keeping with your brand and colours.

With Okul you can have as much or as little as you like. Okul can have a chip and pin, a receipt or ticket printer, RFID reader, a bar code scanner, a web cam or microphone or none of these. In this way the Okul can be custom made to suit your needs and requirements, so you’re not paying for facilities that you wouldn’t make use of.

Of course seeing the Okul Kiosk at the Retail Business Technology Expo in ‘the flesh’ means that you can actually see how your customers would view it for their first encounter. You will also get to see the size and workmanship of the kiosk, information you can only get from seeing a kiosk first hand. Demonstration software will be running on the Okul so you will also be able to use the kiosk as if you were a customer, to give you an idea of feel of use. The Kiosks4Business team will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.

Kiosk4Business will be displaying and demonstration a number of their Touchscreen kiosks, and you can view them all at the Retail Business Technology Expo at Earls Court on the 13th and 14th of March. You’ll find Kiosks4Business on stand 499.

New Kiosk Designs From Kiosks4Business

Towards the end of 2011 Kiosks4Business have been working hard designing new kiosk housing designs. Some of the new kiosk designs have been off the shelf solutions for customers visiting the website looking for cost effective high specifications kiosk units whilst others have been bespoke kiosk developments for individual customers. Between them, the new kiosk designs have kept the kiosk design team busy.

We have a page on the website explaining the process the designers go through to develop a kiosk from some sketches on a note pad to being a fully working kiosk. It’s very interesting stuff and every detail is considered to ensure the kiosk will be the best it can possibly be.

If you wanted to view the new kiosk designs you can either check out the images online, but for a better viewing you could visit Kiosk4Business and view the kiosks ‘in person’. Actually seeing the kiosk and having hands on interaction with it gives you a better idea of which kiosk is right for your needs. Kiosks look and feel much different in the flesh, and you have to view them to appreciate this. For a viewing, simply give us a call and arrange a visit and one of the Kiosk developers will be happy to show you around the various machines and let you know what the individual kiosk capabilities are.

Eidos Multi-touch Touchscreen Kiosk is Being Chosen By Schools

Eidos Multi-touch Touchscreen Kiosk is Being Chosen By Schools

Eidos Multi-touch Touchscreen Kiosk is Being Chosen By Schools

When schools are looking for a kiosks solution for pupils, parents and school visitors the Eidos kiosks can’t fail to impress on good looks, but it also impresses at other levels, and in particularly Eidos is right on the money for price.

Schools are always looking to stretch their school budget which is why schools tend to have a long check list when it comes to buying new equipment to enhance the school. In addition to this, schools have a wide assortment of people passing through. Eidos is the perfect solution for schools to deliver self-service information to the schools pupils and other visitors.

Topping the bill, the Eidos delivers on price. Eidos is around £500 less than other kiosks on the market that have fewer winning features. But just because the Eidos costs less on average, it doesn’t mean that the quality has been compromised. Careful design and use of materials have helped keep Eidos at a price point that wins.

So what does Eidos give schools for their money?

For a start Eidos is user friendly by all people no matter how tall or small they might be. The Eidos was built to be wheelchair friendly, which means that the screen is accessible to seated user. Likewise this means that a younger child can also access the Eidos touchscreen. But this doesn’t mean that the kiosk is too low for an adult male to stand to use. The Kiosks is uniquely designed so that everyone, short or tall can access the kiosk.

The kiosk also has the latest multi-touch touchscreen technology. Multi-touchscreens make web based information on the kiosk look fantastic and also makes the kiosk enjoyable to use. Multi-touch touchscreens are screens that work in a simply way to the ipad. Because the screen is modern and a high specification in popular mobile phone, kids instantly find the kiosk user friendly and enviable; which transpires into high usage.

Eidos is great to have as a focal point in a reception area because it looks high tech and the LED lights that illuminate the head of the kiosk draw attention to it, beckoning the next user to step up.

As mentioned earlier, the Eidos is wheelchair friendly, as well as having other potential disability aiding features including a hearing loop and bigger text and button facilities for users with visual issues, and the kiosk can be fitted with a telephone handset.

Eidos is a great all rounder for schools delivering on a number of points but mainly in that its user friendly for all users alike at a price that wont break the bank. There’s always someone available at Kiosks4Business to take your calls if you would like to find out more information or if you would like to arrange a viewing – telephone 0845 451 2020

Get Extra Assistance with The New Disability Friendly Eidos Multi-touch Touchscreen Kiosk

Disability Friendly Eidos Multi-touch Touchscreen KioskThere are not many kiosks on the market that comply with the Disability Discrimination Act to offer the same level of service for all regardless of disability. But Eidos is a kiosk that can be used by organisations to give assistance and self-service to most service users despite of any disability they might or might not have.

Eidos is the newly designed kiosk from Kiosk4Business that has only recently been launched. Kiosks4Business has worked closely with councils and the NHS over a number of years, and what they have learnt is that public sector services need DDA kiosks; touchscreen kiosks designed for all users. With this in mind the Kiosks4Business design team set about designing a free standing kiosk that ticked all the boxes and Eidos was born.

Firstly the shape and style of the kiosk makes it to be wheelchair friendly. The screen is low enough for wheelchair users to view and access the screen. Furthermore the base of the kiosk fans out at the bottom, but this flaring begins under where a wheelchair’s foot plates would be so that it doesn’t prevent wheelchair users from getting close to use the Eidos. The screen is angled such that people standing at the kiosk or those seated have equal access too.
Eidos DDA Kiosk
The Flaired skirt also protect the kiosks stand from being rammed by wheelchairs, the gentle gradient catches oncoming wheelchairs and brings it to a stop instead of letting the wheelchair bump violently into the kiosk.

Eidos comes with high quality specifications such as a multi-touch touchscreen. The screen has dual purpose, not only does it look fantastic and make the interactive screens on the software look and feel great. The screen also has DDA advantages too. Where motor control is an issue, the touchscreen makes navigating the kiosk so much easier, users can simply touch and drag the screen in a similar way to the ipad screen.

Touchscreens are fantastic for disability kiosks because the screen can instantly make the buttons or text larger or smaller to accommodate users who are visually impaired, or have limited control of their hand and require big buttons.

Eidos is a great design for seamlessly introducing additional features into the kiosk, and additional functionality can be added such as a Hearing loop, a telephone handset or a printer. Adding additional features to Eidos makes the kiosk more disability friendly.

Eidos comes with an illuminated head. LED lighting behind the head of the kiosk gives the Eidos that vogue look. The light of the Eidos makes the kiosk visiable across the room to people who have sight issues.

I suppose you thinking that the Eidos sounds great but all this thought through designing must come at a price. The Eidos is probably a lot better value than most kiosks out there, the basic model including the multi-touch touchscreen being on average £500 less than other companies’ kiosks with lower spec. Eidos offers a great looking kiosk, with versatility at a realistic price that offers value for money.

Eidos is the first in a series of new kiosk designs from the team at Kiosks4business. Checkout our website or call us today for more information www.Kiosks4Business.com 0845 451 2020
